Aspiring Heads of Volunteering – Applications open for the next cohort

The leadership development programme specifically for volunteering professionals looking to move into a strategic role is back for 2027.

Applications will be open October 12 – November 6 2026, with limited places available to ensure a high quality learning experience. The programme will run March – October 2027.

The Aspiring Heads of Volunteering course is designed and delivered by Dr Helen Timbrell and Charlotte Witteridge, both experienced Heads of Volunteering and also experienced recruiters of Heads of Volunteering. They have used their experiences in the role, along with their wider experience in leadership development and deep sector knowledge, to develop a programme focussed on the core strategic skills aspiring Heads need to develop.

Through a combination of face to face and online learning, all in a supported peer network, the programme aims to equip participants for the next stage in their career. Participants in 2026 have described the programme as “inspiring”, “brilliant” and “life-changing”.
