Volunteering boost for charities, libraries and museums
167 organisations have been given funding from Arts Council England, UK Community Foundations and Historic England to create additional volunteering activities across the country. Organisations across the identified 27 disadvantaged areas will receive a share of the government-funded £13 million for arts groups, charities and artist-led workshops. This means that more than 15,000 people are being supported into volunteering and given opportunities to build social connections.
An additional £4.1 million has also been awarded to help entrepreneurs kick-start social enterprises and support local communities. This involves business support, training, networking, one-to-one support and peer learning.
