TeamKinetic News and Events

Upcoming Masterclasses

We have a great series of Masterclasses for you, including another guest session in May.

First, this week on Wednesday (4th March), we have a session on opportunity types, onboarding, restrictions and promotion. We’ll show you how to create opportunities within TeamKinetic and how to effectively promote those opportunities. The session will ensure you get the right volunteers for all of your opportunities every time.

Next, on April 1st, we’ll be looking at how to use groups within TeamKinetic for effective control and management of volunteers. Groups are a fantastic feature, not only for collating volunteers, but also for reporting and targeted communications. A great session to help you use groups to their full potential.

And last but not least, we have a fantastic guest masterclass on May 6th delivered by Paddy Hanrahan. Paddy has been an experienced leader in the UK volunteering space for a while, but now he’s sharing his expertise via Patchworks.

Patchworks is a new organisation helping community organisations produce independent evidence of their impact. His session will explore how organisations like yours can move from stories and activity counts to clear, credible evidence of impact without over-complicating things or becoming an evaluation expert.

You can book all Masterclasses now via your system (Help & Support → Masterclasses & Training). If you’re not a TeamKinetic user, you can join us for Paddy’s Masterclass via this page.

We’re always looking for new topics to cover in these Masterclasses. If there’s anything regarding the TeamKinetic system that you’re not quite sure on, you can suggest it via email, live chat or support ticket, and we’ll add it to our list of topics to cover.

You can watch all past Masterclasses via the TeamKinetic YouTube channel.

New Integration – Tickets for Good

In case you didn’t know, we released our latest update to the TeamKinetic system late last year. It brought in a lot of things to make your volunteer management easier, including a new Integration with Tickets for Good.

We’ve had a few people reach out about the process with questions, so we wanted to lay it all out in simple terms.

The Process

Setting up the integration is simple and can be done directly within your TeamKinetic system:

  1. Navigate to the Super Admin Settings Menu.
  2. Select Setup and then click on Integrations.
  3. Locate the Tickets for Good section.
  4. Click the “Get Started” button to begin the process.
  5. If your organisation meets the Tickets for Good criteria, you’re good to go!

FAQ

What criteria does my organisation need to meet to qualify?

Most TeamKinetic users will meet their criteria – all registered charities (registered with the Charity Commission), NHS Trusts, and Government-funded schools automatically will. They are willing to make exceptions for CIC/non-profit organisations and local councils too.

Are there any setup costs?

No! The only costs that arise during the whole process will be for your volunteers redeeming tickets – the tickets are free, but a small booking fee does apply.

What criteria does the volunteer need to meet to qualify?

The volunteer needs to have logged at least one hour on your system.

You can read this blog post, which goes through every new feature in our 2.6.1 Update in full.

Digital in Volunteering – Community of Practice

Do you use AI in your personal or professional life?

Our most recent CoP event was an excellent session on AI in Volunteering, looking at the nuances of arguments for and against AI. Our speakers shared their work into AI and how they use it themselves in the context of their job roles. It sparked an interesting debate with issues such as trust, ethics, and environmental concerns raised.

We were joined by: Amanda Naylor OBE (Chief Executive of Volunteering Matters). Ross McCullough (Founder of Third Sector Lab). Daniel King (VCSE Data Observatory). Andrew Newman (The Open Data Institute).

You can catch the full recording of this session online; it is a worthwhile watch if you, or your organisation, is thinking of using AI anytime soon. Even if you are already using AI, it is definitely worth a watch to see what new developments are happening in the space.

Coming Next

Digital for Coordination & Capacity (30 April)
The session will bring together a range of perspectives to strengthen decision-literacy – helping you choose fewer, better-connected tools that genuinely support coordination and capacity.

Digital for Flexibility – Volunteer Experience (23 July)
This session will explore: Reducing friction in the volunteer journey by offering potential improvements you can make to your volunteer onboarding processes.

Building Digital That Doesn’t Exclude (29 October)
This session will explore how to embed accessibility, trust and fairness into all your digital processes.

Read more about all these events on the Community of Practice website.

Community of Practice members have full access to a range of great resources, including the Digital in Volunteering Toolkit and all of our past event recordings.
