Huge System Update Incoming!

In case you didn’t already know, we have a whole host of exciting features ready to hit your TeamKinetic system. These are all available for admins to see now, via the TeamKinetic Beta Site. Just log in using your usual admin details.

Highlights include:

  • Customisable admin permissions for greater control across volunteers, opportunities, providers and system settings.
  • Opportunity assignment enabling targeted access and communication.
  • GOVO integration for simple, direct sharing of opportunities.
  • Tickets for Good integration, giving volunteers access to free or discounted events.
  • New volunteer status options to keep future sessions accurate.
  • Updated fonts and ongoing customisation options via the CSS editor.
  • Improved search filters to distinguish activity and engagement more easily.
  • Enhanced Log All Hours page with provider filters, clearer rules and totals.
  • Updated SMS rules, now using a TeamKinetic sender ID.
  • Faster auto-suggest searching everywhere volunteers are added or searched for.

That’s a lot of stuff, right? Let us tell you about some of the biggest things in more detail…

Or read our blog post, which goes through every new feature in full.

Customisable Admin Permissions

First things first, we’re introducing granular Admin permissions to give you much more control over what each admin within your system can do.

Super Admins can now set detailed permissions for each administrator across volunteers, opportunities, providers and system settings.

We’ve added a few presets to make it easy to get started, with varying options from Low to High level access.

There are also new options that were previously limited to Super Admins for you to grant your standard Admin users. It’s worth having a play around on our Beta site to see all the potential options.

Edit permissions via Settings – Admin Accounts – Edit.

Assign Administrators to Opportunities

Opportunities can now be assigned to individual administrators, giving them edit access and ensuring relevant email notifications reach the right person.

This works alongside the customisable admin permissions – if edit access on all opportunities is turned off, this can override that, giving a user edit access for specific opportunities only.

You can also assign a provider to the opportunity. This gives them no extra edit access, but does send comms related to the opportunity their way (in addition to the central provider email address).

Find this on any Opportunity in the Details tab.

New Integrations: GoVo and Tickets For Good

You can now share opportunities directly to GoVo directly from TeamKinetic. All opportunity types are supported, and prospective volunteers will be directed back to apply via TeamKinetic.

We’re also excited to say that, through our partnership with Tickets For Good, approved organisations can give volunteers access to free or heavily discounted event tickets in exchange for logged hours. You can begin the approval process from the integrations page.

Integrations can be found via Settings – Setup – Integrations.

Digital in Volunteering – Community of Practice

The Community of Practice is in full swing now. Our members have full access to all resources, including the Digital in Volunteering Toolkit and our event recordings. But as we head into a new year, we want to hear about what the sector wants support with.

If you have a couple of minutes to spare, please help us by filling in our survey: Your digital volunteering priorities for 2026

Your insight will help shape new national guidance, training and resources planned for 2026, ensuring they reflect the real needs of the sector.

All participants will be entered into a draw for a £100 voucher. Please feel free to share it with colleagues who support volunteers too!

The Next CoP Event: AI & Volunteering

At our next event, on Wednesday 14th January, we’ll be taking a look at AI in Volunteering.

We’ll be joined by:

  • Amanda Naylor OBE (Chief Executive of Volunteering Matters)
  • Ross McCullough (Founder of Third Sector Lab)
  • Daniel King and Taha Osman (VCSE Data Observatory)
  • Andrew Newman (The Open Data Institute)

You can secure tickets here.

You can catch the recordings from our past events on the CoP website, here.
(Joining as a member is free!)
