TeamKinetic System Updates
In case you missed it, here’s some of the exciting stuff we have coming to a TeamKinetic system near you…
Better Access Control
First things first, we’re introducing granular Admin permissions to give you much more control over what each admin can do.
Right now, there are three admin types (Super, Regular, and Pod), but their permissions can’t be changed. Soon, you’ll be able to decide exactly what each admin can access or edit.
There will be around 25 – 30 permissions you can turn on or off for each person, plus ready-made role templates like “Editor” or “Viewer” to make setup easy.

This means you can safely give more people access without worrying they’ll see or change things they shouldn’t.
The feature is already in testing and due to launch this quarter.
Flows
Flows bring everything to do with onboarding your volunteers and opportunity access into one simple, step-by-step process.
Right now, there are lots of separate settings which can make it confusing to see why someone can or can’t join an opportunity.
With Flows, all those bits come together in one place. You’ll be able to build clear, custom “flows” that show every step a volunteer needs to complete. This might include providing references and/or passing a background check.
Admins will be able to see exactly where each volunteer is in the process, and volunteers will be able to track their own progress too. It’ll make onboarding, compliance, and opportunity access easier to manage, more consistent, and far less confusing.
Hear directly from Rolf on these two features in this short clip from our conference below:
One Opp, Everywhere
And finally, our third new feature makes it easy to manage the same opportunity that happens in lots of different places, like a charity shop role across multiple branches.
Instead of creating dozens of identical opportunities, you’ll be able to create one opportunity and link it to multiple locations.
When volunteers apply, they’ll see the opportunity once in the search results and then simply choose the location they want to join.
This keeps searches cleaner, reduces admin work, and makes reporting easier. But don’t worry – you’ll still be able to see which locations are covered and track sessions by place.

Making Volunteering Data More Accessible
We’re proud to share some exciting news from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) about a new initiative that is underway to make volunteering data more open and accessible across the UK.
The Open Data Institute (ODI) has been commissioned by DCMS to lead the project, which will develop a common open data standard for volunteering opportunities. With more than 47 different platforms currently advertising roles in different ways, the project aims to make it easier for people to find and access opportunities, no matter where they look.
TeamKinetic is delighted to be part of this pilot, working alongside DoIt and the ODI to help shape how volunteering data can be shared safely, consistently, and effectively.
Running from October 2025 to March 2026, the project will test how shared data standards can help connect volunteering opportunities across platforms. Ultimately, we hope this will make it simpler for volunteers and organisations to find each other, and for the sector to grow stronger together.
“The positive impact of volunteering on people’s mental and physical health is well known, not to mention the contribution it makes to community cohesion and society as a whole. We’re delighted to be working on this with DoIt and TeamKinetic, and to have the chance to make a difference in another sector.”
