HVG Event: A Look Ahead at 2025

AVM Event: Attract, Engage and Retain Volunteers Through Powerful Communication

Effective communication is the secret to attracting, engaging, and retaining volunteers. Join the AVM to discover how to craft impactful messages, share compelling stories, and create eye-catching materials that make your volunteering opportunities stand out.

During the online event, you can hear directly from Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland on how they use storytelling to connect with volunteers and inspire support. Robyn Donoghue, their Content and Digital Marketing Officer, will share tips and examples, including:

  • Finding and sharing meaningful volunteer stories.
  • Ethical storytelling and building a strong narrative.
  • Using social media, local press, and internal channels to spread the word.

Attendees will also benefit from a Canva workshop from Katy Penman (Trainer, Facilitator and Investing in Volunteers Assessor). Katy will guide you through using Canva to create professional designs for volunteer recruitment and recognition. By the end, you’ll have your own ready-to-use digital or printed asset!
