New NHS Volunteering Website Launched

The NHS has just launched a new website to connect people with local health and care volunteering roles. With a quick postcode search, anyone can find and apply for NHS and partner opportunities nearby.

This user-friendly, accessible site is free for both recruiters and volunteers. Organisations can easily post roles, accepting applications directly or linking to their own systems.

The King’s Award for Voluntary Service

Nominations for the King’s Award for Voluntary Service are now open! This Royal Award celebrates outstanding volunteer groups who are a source of pride and inspiration within communities across the UK.

Equivalent to an MBE, the King’s Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS) is the highest award given to local voluntary groups in the UK.

Nominations for the KAVS 2025 are open now and you have until the 1st December 2024 to complete your nomination.

How do you nominate a group for a KAVS?

The process for nominating a group is simple:

Step 1: Use the eligibility criteria to make sure the group is eligible for an award and you are eligible to nominate.

Step 2: Consider information about your chosen group such as their contact information, the group’s impact in your local community, and what makes the volunteers so impressive.

Step 3: Set up a KAVS nominator account – it only takes a minute.

Step 4: Get in touch with two other people who would be able to supply letters of support for the group.

Step 5: Complete the online nomination form and upload the two letters of support.

If you’re ready to nominate a group, please visit the website here.
