Volunteering at The Games: A Golden Experience

The Summer Olympics are in full swing now. And with them, comes the recruitment of 45,000 volunteers. One of those 45,000 is Karolyn Gaston from Northern Ireland. Incredibly, it’s her third time volunteering at the Olympics! She previously volunteered at London 2012 and Rio 2016, and now Paris 2024.

London 2012 lit my Olympic flame and it hasn’t dimmed whatsoever!

The volunteers at Paris 2024 are responsible for:

  • Supporting the quality of the experience for all Games stakeholders
  • Supporting sports performance
  • Ensuring that the organisation is fluid and runs smoothly

Ultimately, their mission is to make the Games a unique experience for everyone involved. Their duties could include welcoming spectators and guiding them around the venues, or assisting on events with tasks such as picking up balls, setting up starting blocks, etc.
