The Big Help Out 2024
This year’s Big Help Out saw an estimated 6.5 million participants, with young people being the largest group involved. The event, initially launched in 2023 to celebrate the King and Queen’s Coronation, featured charities hosting volunteering opportunities across the UK.
A survey of over 2,000 participants by Walnut Omnibus revealed that 79% were more likely to volunteer in the future, with 74% stating the event encouraged them to talk to neighbours and 76% feeling a stronger sense of community. Additionally, 78% found it easier to meet new people, and 79% met someone from a different background.
Large companies also participated, promoting various volunteer activities, including litter picks, supporting food banks, and environmental clean-ups.
The Big Help Out is a collaborative effort with the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and a coalition of 30 leading charities.
This year, we were excited to be able to facilitate our users adding their new and existing TeamKinetic opportunities to The Big Help Out’s platform through our partnership with DoIt.
