These are all available for admins to see now, via the <a href=\"https:\/\/beta.teamkinetic.co.uk\/vk\/admin\">TeamKinetic Beta Site<\/a>. Just log in using your usual admin details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Highlights include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Customisable admin permissions<\/strong> for greater control across volunteers, opportunities, providers and system settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Opportunity assignment<\/strong> enabling targeted access and communication.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>GOVO integration<\/strong> for simple, direct sharing of opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tickets for Good integration<\/strong>, giving volunteers access to free or discounted events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>New volunteer status options<\/strong> to keep future sessions accurate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Updated fonts<\/strong> and ongoing customisation options via the CSS editor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Improved search filters<\/strong> to distinguish activity and engagement more easily.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enhanced Log All Hours page<\/strong> with provider filters, clearer rules and totals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Updated SMS rules<\/strong>, now using a TeamKinetic sender ID.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Faster auto-suggest searching<\/strong> everywhere volunteers are added or searched for.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s a lot of stuff, right? Let us tell you about some of the biggest things in more detail&#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Or <a href=\"https:\/\/teamkinetic.co.uk\/blog\/2025\/11\/teamkinetic-2-6-1-major-release\/\">read our blog post<\/a>, which goes through every new feature in full.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Customisable Admin Permissions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First things first, we&#8217;re introducing granular Admin permissions to give you much more control over what each admin within your system can do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Super Admins can now set detailed permissions for each administrator across volunteers, opportunities, providers and system settings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ve added a few presets to make it easy to get started, with varying options from Low to High level access. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are also new options that were previously limited to Super Admins for you to grant your standard Admin users. It&#8217;s worth having a play around on <a href=\"https:\/\/beta.teamkinetic.co.uk\/vk\/admin\">our Beta site<\/a> to see all the potential options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Edit permissions via Settings &#8211; Admin Accounts &#8211; Edit.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-loom wp-block-embed-loom wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"New granular permissions for administrators TeamKinetic 2.6.1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loom.com\/embed\/6e32ee4e0913476b8dd673318e7dbcd8\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"629\" height=\"471.75\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Assign Administrators to Opportunities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Opportunities can now be assigned to individual administrators, giving them edit access and ensuring relevant email notifications reach the right person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This works alongside the customisable admin permissions &#8211; if edit access on all opportunities is turned off, this can override that, giving a user edit access for specific opportunities only. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also assign a provider to the opportunity. All opportunity types are supported, and prospective volunteers will be directed back to apply via TeamKinetic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re also excited to say that, through our partnership with Tickets For Good, approved organisations can give volunteers access to free or heavily discounted event tickets in exchange for logged hours. Our members have full access to all resources, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/digitalvolunteermanager.com\/digital-in-volunteering-toolkit\/\">Digital in Volunteering Toolkit<\/a> and our <a href=\"https:\/\/digitalvolunteermanager.com\/events-and-training\/\">event recordings<\/a>. hosting a session on how to design effective, engaging volunteer inductions that set people up for success from day one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session will explore what truly makes a good induction, how to secure senior leadership buy-in, and practical steps for developing an induction package that feels welcoming, purposeful and volunteer-centred. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attendees will also hear case studies from two charities that have recently overhauled their approach, sharing the impact and lessons learned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speakers include Karen Gurney (Volunteer Development and Experience From national charities to small community groups, there are plenty of ways to get involved if you\u2019d like to give a little time on the day itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Opportunities range from supporting programmes such as Crisis at Christmas, volunteering with local night shelters, churches and community meal projects, or helping organisations like The Salvation Army and Age UK with everything from serving meals to providing companionship. Many areas also run community-led Christmas dinners for older people, care leavers or anyone spending the day alone, and these events often rely on local volunteers to cook, deliver, or simply offer a friendly presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re interested in helping out, national charities list options online, while smaller community groups may welcome support even if they\u2019re not actively advertising. More than 300 organisations have already signed a letter rejecting the idea of &#8216;mandatory volunteering&#8217;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New details released by the Home Office set out a 10-year qualifying period for settlement, with the possibility of reducing this by 3-5 years through volunteering. The consultation notes that volunteering \u201cshould always be a free choice\u201d but asks charities to assess how easily applicants could evidence their contribution and what impact such a system would have on their organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sector leaders say the updated proposals offer little reassurance. Additional concerns include heightened safeguarding risks, with groups such as Reach Volunteering warning that migrants might feel unable to report poor treatment if their immigration status is tied to volunteering. Organisations also highlight that many migrants already volunteer willingly, but others &#8211; particularly those working multiple jobs or facing health issues &#8211; are unable to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charities argue the plans would create substantial administrative, logistical and reporting burdens, and risk pressuring traumatised people into unpaid work.
