These are going to take some time to realise properly, so we wanted to get some of the smaller things done and dusted so you don&#8217;t have to wait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Catch the full summary of changes made in this TeamKinetic update via <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/lVmnkpTQnm0?si=xbkjFzVBRJ-0wMAi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this video<\/a>, or tuck into all the details in full below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lVmnkpTQnm0?si=aDoDngoZ4Skk4sOr\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Data Retention Options and Rules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In this TeamKinetic update, there are two new options that work well with the auto-delete options to handle your data retention needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can now select the level of data you wish to retain when any volunteer is removed, by an admin, by themselves or via the auto-deletion of inactive volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first level only saves the volunteer&#8217;s hours, anonymously in the deleted hours total that you see in reports. This has been the only available level of data retention to this point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second level adds the volunteer&#8217;s essential profile information; name, email address etc. to the data that is retained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Level three adds the volunteer&#8217;s opportunity and session history, so you can trace what sessions they were on and where.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Level four adds their email log.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"638\" height=\"282\" src=\"https:\/\/teamkinetic.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/C3884823-7B39-4500-967D-9C7ACBC11E13.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15648\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamkinetic.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/C3884823-7B39-4500-967D-9C7ACBC11E13.png 638w, https:\/\/teamkinetic.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/C3884823-7B39-4500-967D-9C7ACBC11E13-300x133.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 638px) 100vw, 638px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>All this information is searchable and viewable in your dashboard and you&#8217;ll have the option to expunge data or to extend the retention period, anytime you wish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second option sets a data retention period. Once any retained data is older than this it will be automatically expunged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">File Upload Custom Registration Question<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A super useful new field type that you can add to the volunteer registration page. Great if there are documents you need from the volunteer as part of their registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The uploaded files are stored in the volunteer&#8217;s ID section of their document storage. The files are given the label short name you define when creating the custom question and locked to prevent deletion by the volunteer.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"851\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/teamkinetic.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DE9FAB35-AAF1-4434-8E91-B325B0261E41.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15649\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teamkinetic.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DE9FAB35-AAF1-4434-8E91-B325B0261E41.png 851w, https:\/\/teamkinetic.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DE9FAB35-AAF1-4434-8E91-B325B0261E41-300x240.png 300w, https:\/\/teamkinetic.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DE9FAB35-AAF1-4434-8E91-B325B0261E41-768x615.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 851px) 100vw, 851px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>File upload questions only appear on the registration page and are not editable from the volunteer&#8217;s dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Text Only Custom Registration Question<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to provide more information about any step in the registration process you can now add a text-only section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The text displayed will be the label you define when setting up the question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like the registration questions these only appear on the actual registration page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Character Limits on Single and Multiline Text Entry Custom Questions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Add a maximum number of characters that volunteers and providers can enter in these fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The limit will prevent users from entering any characters beyond the limit. On average an English word has 4.7 characters, so divide the character count by 5 to get a rough estimate of word count.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The limit defaults to 2500 or 500 words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">User Controllable Cookie Consent<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember all those annoying cookie consent pop-ups; they&#8217;re back!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were hopeful that these might disappear with our exit from the EU but they haven&#8217;t gone anywhere yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is now a requirement to allow users to opt out of various sorts of cookies, like the Google Analytics cookies, as well as the required non-tracking ones for logins etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ll be adding our pop-up to all our customer sites throughout this release.
