Here at TeamKinetic we often enjoy reading and sharing with one another articles that\u00a0challenge and explore our values, opinions and actions. This week I received an article\u00a0on\u00a0appreciation. Having read the article, I felt that others should also be able to appreciate\u00a0its message.<\/p>\n
Just before you read this article, I encourage a moment of reflection.
\nAsk yourself:\u00a0when was the last time I really said thank you?\u00a0I don\u2019t mean as you rush away\u00a0from the cafe with your morning coffee or as you pass someone holding the door.\u00a0When\u00a0was the last time\u00a0you went out of the way to show your gratification to another person?<\/p>\n
Similarly, when was the last time someone went out of their way to appreciate what you\u00a0did?<\/p>\n
It doesn\u2019t take long to realise how satisfying it is to be appreciated and to appreciate.\u00a0For me the last time was at the end of my summer job, before I returned back to university.My manager, who I had only known for a couple of months at the time, gave me a\u00a0handwritten thank you card and a gift voucher. The gift voucher was for our favourite coffee\u00a0shop chain so that I could get my favourite coffee after stressful times, just as we would do\u00a0after completing a hectic day at work. The unexpected appreciation and thoughtful gesture had taken me by surprise and has\u00a0stuck with me.<\/p>\n
